Michael Derry is the driving force behind this project. He will at a later stage secure another backer who is experienced at developing major infrastructure projects.
Please follow the links on our home page to give a sample of some of the media coverage Michael has had concerning this proposal.
Michael has had many years experience in carrying out feasibility studies and assisting business in strategic planning as a Consultant. His degree and postgraduate study in economics (Curtin & UWA) provided a solid base for his initial experience in bulk shipping economics and associated research.
Michael has a natural flair for analysing projects and quickly understanding costs and revenues involved. There are others who are quite skilled at academic and market research, however Michael differs from the rest in that:
- he has much firsthand experience in the oil industry (upstream and downstream), bulk shipping, water supply, iron ore, gold mining, small business consulting, alternative energy economics etc;
- he has a special skill in understanding interpreting and making sense of numbers and cost behaviour;
- he is determined to carry on research, no matter how difficult it is until he gets the information he
requires;
- he is experienced at working with civil servants, engineers, draftspersons construction people, politicians, the media etc;
Michael is a member of the Economic Society of Australia.
